Stuart came to Christ in 1971, early in his first year at Virginia Tech. While at Virginia Tech he was very involved in InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. After college his first job was with InterVarsity Press traveling America promoting the IV Press books. He lives with his wife Dr. Jill Browne and are empty nesters due to sons Stuart & Steve who are grown, married, and out of the home. We all live in Richmond, Virginia. Stuart is a member of Hope Church (EPC), is an ordained deacon in the PCA Church, supporter and teacher in his local church (teaches 4th and 5th grade boys Sunday school). And in his spare time, Stuart is an avid golfer.
Prior to founding The Evangelism Institute, Stuart Holt co-founded and built up one of the largest privately owned direct response marketing companies in the U.S. called Response Marketing Group. In 1998, Stuart and his partner sold Response Marketing Group to Snyder Communications and became part of Brann Worldwide, the largest marketing firm in the world. One year after selling RMG to Snyder Communications, Stuart founded The Evangelism Institute to study, research and teach Christians how to increase their joy and excitement through the sharing of their faith with confidence and gentleness. Stuart has always had a heart for helping Christians enjoy the adventure of seeing God at work in people’s lives through an effective communication of the good news of Jesus Christ. Stuart shares his business career information not as a badge of pride due to success, but to let others know that he is a “lay” person within the church and not a “professional paid staff” who is sharing his faith. Stuart desires to see those in the church share their faith themselves and not rely on the paid staff or those with the gift of evangelism.
